European Youth Event: time to get prepared

May 2020 means European Youth Event. And it’s time to start getting prepared!

Do you want to meet other young people from all over Europe, to discuss and shape ideas about the future of the European Union?

You need to know everything about the event and how to apply.

What the European Youth Event (EYE) is?

The European Youth Event is organized each 2 years by the European Parliament in Strasbourg (France). It aims at bringing together young people (16-30 years old), discussing, sharing and shaping ideas about the future of the EU. Its leitmotiv is committing young people, in a spirit of social inclusion and equality, so that participants can co-create the event.

The event, that lasts 2 days, consist in different activities, like tables of discussion, workshops and artistic performance. It is a great opportunities for young people and organizations to widen horizons, meeting new people and getting involved in an experience of participative democracy.

The EYE 2020, that will take place on May 29-30, as it appears from a look to the draft of the program, will mostly focus on the topics of environment, education, artificial intelligence and Brexit.

Participants can also propose their own activities and artistic performance, sending a presentation to the organizers.

Who can apply?

In order to apply, you need to:

  • Be 16-30 years old;
  • Form a group of minimum 10 people


In order to register the group, registration will open in January 2020, on the website of the EYE.

The participation is free of charge, but you will need to pay for your own travel and accommodation. However, under certain conditions, you can apply for a financial contribution.

The deadline for requesting a financial contribution in October 15th, 2019.

Since the event aims at fully involving young people, you have the opportunity to propose an activity of your own.

If you want to do so, you need to send a suggestion in November 17th, 2019.
