    Ostello Monte Barro is looking for two volunteers. The two Volunteers will be involved in environmental education activities within the hosting organisation.

    Tasks

    Volunteers will be fully involved into the main activities run by Ostello Monte Barro, in particular they will:

    - assist the ideation and design of eco-sustainable touristic path for visitors, with the goal of widening the offer for foreign visitors
    - assist in the preparation and implementation of didactic workshops for primary school students: support in the facilitation, conduction of some workshops, support in the group management
    - design and implement didactic workshops proposed by themselves on art, environment education, creative recycling;
    - check-in of the guests;
    - room preparation and cleaning;
    - support the implementation of summer camps hosted at Ostello Monte Barro, in particular logistic and workshops on environmental themes
    -support the communication of the association, also at International level (social networks, web articles, website management, creation of leaflets for promotional activities)

    About the organisation

    The Parco Monte Barro Hostel is located next to the Hermitage of Monte Barro. Its central position in the park (at 750 meters above sea level, with sweeping views over the Brianza lakes and the eastern branch of Lake Como) and its proximity to some areas of cultural interest make the Hermitage a perfect venue for accommodation, excursions, educational activities and conferences. As well as running the hostel, Legambiente and Eliante organize environmental education activities aimed at schools and groups of adults. The hostel has a total capacity of 50 beds and is divided into two sections: the Orchid area has rooms with up to four beds, all equiped with their own bathroom;  the Squirrel section has two, three, four and ten bedrooms/bed dorms with shared bathrooms. Both areas have fully equipped kitchens, common rooms to relax and dining rooms ideal for self-catering.

    Volunteer Profile

    The ideal volunteer is ready to live for a long time in an isolated environment. He/she should love nature and open-air activities and be ready to perform tasks in close relation with people visiting the park and the hostel.
    Furthermore, they should have a strong motivation in working with environment education.
