Fattoria l'Arca is a certified organic farm located in the South of Italy. It offers a retreat for guests looking to reconnect with nature and local produce cultivated organically. The volunteers' task will be:
Organic gardening
Taking care of the animals
Cooking with local produce
Visit other local organic farms
Pottery workshop
Activities in schools to promote the Erasmus+ program
World Tree Day - 21 November
River and beach cleaning
Cookery course (pizza, gnocchi, fresh pasta, jams, etc)
Olive harvest
Sightseeing
Weekly group meetings
Fattoria L’Arca is an educational and social farm, carrying out organic farming and the breeding of the semi-wild black pig of Calabria. It aims to create a place of educational, social and human exchange and for this reason it has always welcomed people who want to experience the rural lifestyle or who, at a difficult time in their lives, need a safe place where they can feel at home, understood and valued. The farmhouse guarantees the means of support for all the other activities that have not been conceived for profit. In this way they can cultivate in a truly organic way, breed animals in health, without exploitation, devote themselves to the teaching and free reception of people with social, economic and psychological difficulties, as well as having cultural exchanges with volunteers from all over the world.
The profile of an ideal volunteer is:
MUST be aged between 18 and 30
MUST be resident or citizen of an EU country (included Italy)
motivated and eager to learn
adaptable and open-minded
able to work in a team
respectful of common rules
loving nature and animals
willing to work early hours (starting at 6 AM)
