We are currently prioritising analysing the following themes:

  1. Violence against women (Balkans)
  2. Organised crime related homicides (Balkans)
  3. Cold Case Homicides and investigation methods (focus: Poland)
  4. Sex homicides and investigation methods (focus: Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic)

With secondary focus on:

  1. Latvian homicides, investigations and criminal policies
  2. Institutional prison violence and policies (Many countries)

Tasks

Responsibilities

Drafting and managing research reports
Conducting literature reviews for the reports
Summarizing findings for the reports
Coordinating with fellow researchers
Managing data collection [qualitative/quantitative]
Data analysis
Fact check and edit materials
Assist on website briefs, op-eds and call to action pieces
Attend monthly meetings

Volunteer Profile

The research group welcomes all students (bachelors, masters, doctoral) and professionals with a background in psychology, forensics, law, criminology, political science, sociology, anthropology or other legal/social sciences, that have a keen interest and desire to contribute to research related to homicide and violent crime. 

Training is provided. Remote basis.
