Oasi Lipu Massaciuccoli is an association for nature conservation and the protection of biodiversity, an oasis of peace on the eastern shore of Lake Massaciuccoli in Italy.

They are looking for 4 EU-resident volunteers, 18-30 years-old, to join an European Solidarity Corps project.

About the organisation
The Oasi Lipu Massaciuccoli prioritises environmental education and community engagement. By hosting school groups on-site and visiting local schools, the Oasis team fosters awareness of regional biodiversity and conservation issues. They also work to engage local residents in sustainability efforts and raise awareness about local environmental challenges. Despite limited financial resources, they also contribute to essential environmental management, addressing conservation and biodiversity concerns for the local ecosystem.

The Chiarone Nature Reserve, where LIPU is based, was established in 1979 with the creation of the Migliarino, San Rossore, Massaciuccoli Park. In 1985, it was entrusted to the Italian League for the Protection of Birds/BirdLife Italy, thus the LIPU Massaciuccoli Oasis was born.
Lipu is responsible for the environmental planning and management of the Reserve, the maintenance of the visitor facilities and the monitoring of flora and fauna. It also manages tourism and deals with environmental education through the organisation of events, summer camps and the implementation of educational projects in schools in the area.

- Must be a citizen or resident of an EU country
- Highly respectful of rules, patient, and creative in developing organizational activities
- Determined, positive, and proactive
- Interested in living in an isolated area
- Flexible and able to manage varied working hours
- Willing to do hands-on, physical outdoor work in diverse weather conditions
- Comfortable working closely with animals
- Ready to cook for themselves and the team
- Willing to follow a primarily vegetarian diet, with occasional animal products from local farms
- Adaptable to possible changes
- Intermediate English with strong motivation to learn Italian
