Volunteer in the Cloud Forest of Costa Rica

Founded in 2002, Cloudbridge Nature Reserve is a private, non-profit cloudforest reserve in the Talamanca mountains of Costa Rica. Beginning with the purchase of degraded farmland, Cloudbridge has been actively reforesting the area in order to connect the forests of Mt. Chirripó National Park with adjacent nature reserves and forested areas.

Beyond reforestation work, Cloudbridge is also committed to environmental education and conducting research on the unique and diverse cloudforest ecosystem. With an abundance of wildlife and stunning natural beauty, Cloudbridge provides ideal conditions for ecological research. Volunteers are an important part of this project, especially for their support out in the field with researchers.

Cloudbridge Nature Reserve is looking for research interns and volunteers to conduct studies of the ecology, flora and fauna of the cloudforest on an ongoing basis. Multiple positions available with flexible start dates, lasting a minimum of 12 weeks for researchers or 2 weeks for volunteers. This is an unpaid position and the volunteer will need to cover their own transportation, accommodation and food expenses. Training and guidance will be provided. Dates are flexible.
