    Would you like to volunteer? Does joining a group of 3 other volunteers sound interesting to you? We offer long-term volunteering opportunity for 1 more young person from an EU country.

    The main task of the volunteers will be to facilitate different after-school club activities for children in the surrounding villages of Miercurea Ciuc. The main focus will be on the topic of "Participation in Democratic Life" (e.g. elections, voting, diversity, etc.) Each day of the week ESC volunteers will go to different villages to provide numerous beneficial activities for various rural children. Through non-formal education and fun activities, volunteers will develop the social and English language skills of the children and raise awareness about the importance of Participation in Democratic Life. With this project, you can make a meaningful contribution to society, generate a significant impact, and truly help children in need.

    Tasks

    1. Plan, organize, and facilitate different After School Club activities for disadvantaged children in the surrounding villages, with a focus on non-formal and informal learning activities outside of school:
    - Collect or even produce the tools used for non-formal activities with children
    - Study the importance of games and non-formal activities and their effect on children
    - Take pictures and videos during the activities and create short posts on the social media pages

    2. Put together a collection of detailed games and non-formal activities in a booklet that can be used in the future

    - The main focus of this activity will be on the topic of ''Participation in Democratic Life"

    About the organisation

    Care2Travel is a non-governmental non-profit organisation that has been working with volunteers for over 12 years. Our vision is a world where citizens are socially aware and motivated towards working for positive change. We believe that through education and good example, people will be able to help one another and create a world where we can live together. By creating positive volunteering experiences, we popularize volunteering activity in Romania, thus supporting the growth of an active civil society. In the past, we have been working with many volunteer-sending organizations. Up to now, we have hosted 1000 individual volunteers and 400 volunteers in 16 groups. 

    Care2Travel's main profile is volunteer management. We receive international volunteers from all over the world and place them within the local community on well-run ethical placements in: Teaching, After School Support, Special Needs Project, Sustainable Agriculture, NGO Support, Summer Camp Support, Renovation, construction, and community building.

    We pay attention to enriching the cultural experiences of both foreign volunteers and locals, so we organize and are involved in the following ongoing activities: Trivia Nights, Board game nights, creating and managing an allotment for the volunteer accommodation (produce to be consumed by the volunteers) with greenhouse, a well-developed composting system, exhibiting local manufacturers' artisan products, trainings, and yearly team-building events for local volunteers.

    Volunteer Profile

    - 1 volunteer needed
    - We would like to host a volunteer from any European Union country
    - Aged between 18-30 years
    - Good English language skills (especially spoken)
    - Motivation to volunteer in our project and show specific interest in the topic of our project
    - Wishes to step out of their comfort zone and is committed to living for 7 months in a foreign country
    - Has the urge to develop their communication and cooperation skills, and to recognize their strengths and weaknesses within a team
    - Wants to improve their practical skills in the planning and implementation of activities
    - Wants to have a meaningful contribution to society
    - Motivation to contribute to the creation of a booklet with methods and non-formal learning activities for children living in rural areas
    - Be creative, come up with new ideas, and use your own skills!
