Description

The WSA Young Innovators Award is an open call for young entrepreneurs, companies, student groups, and project teams to showcase their innovative digital solutions. To participate, at least one founding member and the majority of the team must be under the age of 26 (born on or after January 1, 1998).

The program is open to young citizens from all UN member states, including start-ups, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, students, and individuals.

Eligible submissions can include any of the following:

  • Apps
  • Websites
  • Applications for wearables
  • Kiosk installations
  • SMS-based products
  • Games
  • Interactive productions
Objectives

The objectives of the programme are the following:

- Pitch Solutions to a Global Network: Provide participants with the opportunity to present their solutions to a network of national experts, building valuable connections.
- Global Recognition and Participation: Offer winners the chance to attend the 19th WSA Global Congress in Hyderabad, India.
- Networking with Key Stakeholders: Enable winners to connect with like-minded individuals, including partners, investors, and fellow impact entrepreneurs.
- Join a Collaborative Community: Integrate winners into a knowledge society of thought leaders, innovators, and stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration over competition.
- Access Global Opportunities: Provide participants with access to unique opportunities through WSA's extensive global network.
- Global Learning and Local Impact: Allow winners to learn from global specialists addressing similar challenges and apply those insights to their local ecosystems.

Participant Profile

1. No content promoting violence, fraud, racism, or discrimination.
2. Open to individuals under 26 from UN and UNESCO member states.
3. Submit only fully launched products with local impact or significant updates.
4. Grant WSA rights to use your submission for promotional purposes.
5. All submissions and communications must be in English.
6. Incomplete or non-compliant submissions may be disqualified.

Selection Process

To apply for the WSA & WSA Young Innovators, you must provide detailed information about your product in the WSA Contest Database. All applications must be submitted in English. Remember, an international jury will evaluate your solution, so if your product isn’t accessible globally (e.g., unavailable in certain Play Store regions), ensure you include sufficient information, screenshots, or a comprehensive presentation for the jurors.
