Introduction
The Young Energy Ambassadors project wants to make young people more interested and involved in sustainable energy by connecting them with the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).
The initiative involves a team of young adults (between 18 and 34 years old) who represent the young audience of the European Sustainable Energy Week.
The team consists of 30 young people from various parts of Europe, with different backgrounds (like studying, working, or being involved in personal projects).
The selected candidates will take part of the European Youth Energy Day (EYED) activities in Brussels during the event, from June 11 to 13, 2024.
The EUSEW team will cover your travel and accommodation expenses. The Ambassadorship program will run from April 2024 to June 2025.

What are the ambassadors values?
To participate in the initiative, ambassadors should share and respect the values underlying the project, which are:
- Responsibility and commitment: Being part of the Ambassadorship program means taking positive steps to move towards using energy more sustainably and encouraging others to do the same. Ambassadors will do practical, science-based activities with clear results that show how they’re making a difference.
- Ambition: To reach our goals for energy, climate, and the environment, we need to question old habits and ideas. Ambassadors can help by acting in ways that support Europe’s aim to be climate neutral.
- Actions for different places: Ambassadors will adjust their actions to fit both European and local settings. Ambassadors are asked to share what they know about European energy plans, programs, or chances in their local community, especially with young people.
- Diversity and inclusiveness: The Ambassadorship program wants to break down barriers and fight unfair treatment based on gender, age, disability, or other things. Ambassadors should act in line with European values of democracy and participation.
Remember, agreeing to these values and actions is part of applying to the EUSEW YEA Program.
The responsibilities of the ambassadors
By applying to the Young Energy Ambassadors program, candidates agree to help promote EUSEW and its outcomes by:
- Giving more details about themselves to the organising team for making promotional stuff, like interviews on film, photos, and quotes.
- Using promotional stuff to talk about EUSEW on their own platforms (like social media, newsletters, their network of contacts, their organisation’s website, etc.).
- Taking part in activities from April 2024 to June 2025, and maybe more later (like meetings, events, making videos, etc.).
- Being at EUSEW in person in Brussels from June 11 to 13, 2024.
