Youth Participation Strategy | Become a Group Member!

Introduction

Are you a young person who wants to boost youth involvement with Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs? The SALTO Participation & Information Resource Centre is searching for young people to join the Youth Participation Strategy (YPS) Steering Group for 2024-2025.

The group is responsible for carrying out, keeping an eye on progress, and evaluating the Youth Participation Strategy.

They offer guidance on activities connected to it and work to encourage and highlight the importance of young people actively participating in Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.

Who can join?

This call is open for young people aged 13-30 who have been involved in the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programs.

They should also have experience in local, national, or international youth activities and want to improve youth involvement on a broader European scale.

The steering group will have six youth members chosen from this call, along with representatives from groups like the European Commission, SALTO, RAY network, and National Agencies.

What are the tasks?

Supporting the Youth Participation Strategy involves:

  • Working closely with a researcher to track and improve the strategy
  • Checking on key points and making two yearly reports over 2 years
  • Giving advice on how to make the strategy better and looking at its progress halfway through, suggesting changes if needed

Also, the goal is to:

  • Encourage young people to get involved in local and global activities
  • Promote the Youth Participation Strategy

Also, additional tasks, could include:

  • Being part of discussions about building and promoting a Participation Resource Pool
  • Taking part in planning the Participation Forum in November 2024
  • Helping with the digital side and promoting the Youth Participation Toolkit
  • Giving advice on how young people can be more involved with National Agencies
  • Suggesting ways to focus more on involving young people who face challenges
  • Assisting with any other tasks or ideas that are important for the Youth Participation Strategy and the steering group members

Individual tasks are discussed and distributed based on participants’ competences, experience, learning aims and interests during the onboarding period and throughout the mandate of the steering group.

Working conditions and payment

The primary language for communication is English. Tasks and meetings will take place both online and in person.

The commitment period runs from January 15, 2024, to December 31, 2025.

For this two-year span, participants can expect a payment of 3960 EUR, which covers 12 workdays and includes any relevant taxes.
