Have you heard of European Youth Week?
The European Youth Week (EYW) happens every two years and is organised by the European Commission. It encourages young people to get involved in Europe’s activities and decisions. EYW helps young people talk with leaders, shares their talents, and highlights their projects. It takes turns every two years with another event called the European Youth Event by the European Parliament.
The event will happen from April 12 to 19 2024.
It is particularly significant because it’s happening just two months before the European elections set for June 6-9, emphasising the importance of youth participation in these elections.
The event will be full of fun and interactive activities. There will be many discussions on youth issues and how to improve the lives of young people in the European Union
In particular, we can summarise the reasons why it is worth attending this week:
The European Youth Week 2024 has four main goals:
The National Agencies for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps, together with the Eurodesk network, will plan and promote events at different levels across Europe. Their main goal is to engage young individuals and various youth groups actively. These events will be designed around specific themes, with a strong emphasis on encouraging civic participation and understanding the importance of voting in democratic processes.
Participant will be joining innovative activities, including campaigns, flash mobs, sports events, and outdoor activities.
