Description

The project takes place in Târgu Frumos, Romania,  for 8 months, where we provide accommodation in double or triple rooms, for more details you can check the: Info-pack. Volunteers also receive money for food and pocket money. Travel costs are reimbursed, and we provide support with travel arrangements.

Tasks

Volunteers will participate in artistic residencies, workshops with children and young people, cultural caravans, festivals and exhibitions. They will also contribute to the development of five Alternative Museums dedicated to emotions, Roma culture, Jewish memory, Romanian folklore and Cucuteni heritage.

About the organisation

Since 2009, our organisation, neamed: Super Tineri-ASIRYS has hosted international volunteers in Târgu Frumos, organised Erasmus+ projects and worked with students, young people and rural communities in Iași county. The art and educational methods created through these projects contribute to creation of Alternative Museums.

Volunteer Profile

Applicants should:

-be between 18 and 30 years old;
-live in one of the EU countries;
-have at least an A1 level of English;
-have artistic experience, studies, skills or a strong passion for an art-related field and be able to share a portfolio;
-be interested in working with young people aged 12 and above;
-be ready for shared accommodation and an intensive multicultural experience;
-have not previously completed a long-term volunteering activity under the European Solidarity Corp
The opportunity is especially suitable for young people interested in acting, dance, music, ceramics, fashion, sculpture, graphic design and other artistic fields.

    Selection Process

    Candidates should complete the online application form. Pre-selected applicants will receive a case study through which they can present their ideas and approach. Candidates who complete the case study will be invited to an individual Google Meet interview. Selected volunteers will also need a support organisation from their country of residence.
