The Hostel Parco Monte Barro is an eco-hostel with environmentally sustainable values and parameters. It is located in the middle of Monte Barro Regional Park, situated at 750m above sea level.

On arrival training: first 2 days - organised by the coordinating organisation Associazione Joint.
Final evaluation with Youhpass Certificate and last 2 days.
Requested departure: 4th April. The project includes an additional 2 days of vacation at the end of the project, which will be combined with the last weekend, so for better internal management, volunteers must leave the hostel on April 4th. The pocket money will still be paid until the 8th April.
We will do some indoor and outdoor activities. The categories includes
- Working with animals: the campaign for the preservation of toads;
- Local self-production;
- Farm trips
- Learning about the area: trekking activities.
- Caring for the group and the place where we live: transfeminist workshop; manual, artistic, creative activities on recycling and reuse.
The Parco Monte Barro Hostel is located next to the Hermitage of Monte Barro. Its central position in the park (at 750 meters above sea level, with sweeping views over the Brianza lakes and the eastern branch of Lake Como) and its proximity to some areas of cultural interest make the Hermitage a perfect venue for accommodation, excursions, educational activities and conferences. As well as running the hostel, Legambiente and Eliante organise environmental education activities aimed at schools and groups of adults.
The hostel has a total capacity of 50 beds and is divided into two sections: the Orchid area has rooms with up to four beds, all equipped with their own bathroom; the Squirrel section has two, three, four and ten bedrooms/bed dorms with shared bathrooms. Both areas have fully equipped kitchens, common rooms to relax and dining rooms ideal for self-catering.
MUST be resident /citizen of an EU country.
Available for the whole period of the project (09/03/25 - 04/04/25).
Aged 18 to 30; interested in living in an isolated area; ready for activities with farm animals or toads; open for physical or manual work and “get hands dirty”; ready for trekking experiences; ready to follow vegan of vegetarian diet; ready to cook for yourself and others; ready to share private spaces with the team; be open minded; positive and peaceful attitude; flexibility to adapt to possible changes; proactive and respectful; ready to go out from comfort zone, experiment, and explore; at least intermediate knowledge of English.
