Discover Lublin! The European Youth Capital 2023

Introduction

Discover Lublin, the city that in February won the title as “The European Youth Capital 2023”.

This city is in the eastern Poland and won the title thanks to the commitment to key values such as inclusion, support, tolerance, unity and diversity in their programme.

In addition to being awarded for these fantastic values, Lublin is a city rich in culture, history, places of interest and events, which during the summer reach their peak.

1. Different sound festival (06 – 09 of July)

From 6 to 9 July the city will be filled with music. The European Youth Capital will host the “Different sounds festival”. It will be a festival full of concerts, workshops film screenings and photo and graphic art exhibitions!

In particular, we suggest you take a look at the workshop “Loop Lubin“, during which participants will have the opportunity to create a song track from scratch using low-cost instruments. They will also learn the basics of digital music recording apps and online tools.

2. Meeting of Styles (04 – 06 of August)

During the first week of August, the city will host the event “Meeting of Styles“. Street artists from all over the world will collaborate to paint 1.5 km of walls in the streets of Lublin!

3. Central Playground (01 of July – 27 of August)

From the beginning of July and throughout the whole summer, the “Central Playground” in Lublin will open to visitors from all over the world.

The center will organise many different activities, theatre workshops, shows and events. Throughout the summer it will be possible to participate in fun projects together with young people from all over Europe.

4. Carnaval Sztukmistrzów and Urban Highline Festival (27 – 30 of July)

During the end of July, the streets of the city will be filled with colors, music and performance!

Lublin will in fact host the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów and Urban Highline Festival, during which it will be possible to attend some performances of world-famous contemporary circus artists.

During these days visitors will be surrounded in every corner of the city by art and shows, for this reason we suggest you to check the program on the official website to choose from the events that seem the most interesting

5. European Juggling Convention (29 of July – 06 of August)

Right after the carnival, the 45th edition of the European Juggling Convention will take place in the city.

This will be the biggest and important event in the world of juggling. It will involve jugglers, amateurs but also hobbyists and new circus and street artists. It will be a global convention and people from all over the world will take part in it.
