Join the Youth4Democracy Training Course

Introduction

Are you between 15-20 years old who wants to have a positive impact on your local community and make your voice heard? Then the “Youth4Democracy” training course might be what you need! The training course will take place from August 30th to September 3rd, 2023, in Lier, Belgium, and it is designed to empower young people from all over Europe to engage in decision-making processes and participate actively in democracy.

What to Expect from the Training?

The project’s goal is to involve young people in reflecting on existing solutions and coming up with new approaches to democracy, and to empower them to have more impact in their municipality in the long term as well.

Participants can expect to:

  • Learn from other young Europeans (there will be 29 young people from all over Europe) how to work together with local communities and municipalities;
  • Gain more knowledge about their own local context and understand the obstacles and opportunities within it;
  • Develop personal skills for getting more involved in democratic youth participation in decision-making;
  • Learn how to use the Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps grants for developing activities or projects focusing on youth participation;

The training course is open to young people aged 15-20 who can speak, read, and write English on a basic level. Applicants should have participated in or organised at least one participation activity, project, or initiative in their local community or school. While the training course itself has no participation fee, some national agencies may require a small fee between 25-50 euro to participate in the course.

The application deadline is May 14th, 2023. Apply now and get ready to make a positive change in your local community through the “Youth4Democracy” training course!
