The European Youth Capital (EYC) is a title awarded annually to a European city with an exceptional commitment to engaging and empowering young people. For the 2026 edition, the EYC 2026 Focus Group is seeking five young people to help analyse the applications of the five short-listed candidate cities: Izmir, Málaga, Sarajevo, Tromsø, and Vila do Conde.

The EYC 2026 Focus Group will meet in Novi Sad, Serbia, the European Youth Capital of 2019, on July 4 and 5, 2023. As a member of the Focus Group, you will have the opportunity to use your expertise to analyse each city’s application and develop recommendations that will help the jury select the 2026 European Youth Capital.
The European Youth Forum will cover your travel and accommodation expenses, and you’ll be working alongside an expert who will guide your analysis. Your feedback will also be sent to the finalists as valuable feedback on their applications.
