Cooperativa Sociale Buon Pastore is a non-profit social cooperative active in Genoa since 2019, in continuity with the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, present in the city since 1842. It runs residential socio-educational services for girls, young women and single-parent families, fighting educational poverty and supporting protection and autonomy.

They're looking for 2 female volunteers.

The volunteer will work in two services: the Youth Accommodation, a house for 6 young women aged 18–21 on a path to autonomy; and Macramé, a mother-and-child community for 6 single-parent families.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements 

Accommodation: The volunteer will live in Genova in one of the three shared flats managed by P.E.CO. (two for 4 people, one for 11–12), with double/triple rooms, placed according to availability. 2 of the 3 flats can only be reached by stairs. Living together is a key part of the experience.

Pocket money and food: 6 euros per day and food or a food allowance will be provided.

Travel: The travel expenses will be reimbursed on the basis defined by the European Commission.

Training during the opportunity: 

The volunteer will participate in the training opportunities offered by the Italian National Agency. In addition, they will also take part in the training opportunities organized by association P.E.CO., together with the other volunteers involved in the activities of other Hosting Organizations in Genoa. They will also receive specific training from the cooperative’s team on Buon Pastore’s.
