Call for Young Climate Innovators | Innovate4Climate

Young Climate Innovators (YCI) is a space for young adults and students aged 18-35.

Innovate4Climate (I4C) is managing the project along with the Connect4Climate Global Partnerships Program of the World Bank Group and the Global Youth Climate Network, which is a volunteer project of the World Bank Group Youth-to-Youth Community.

The goal is for these young people to learn and share ideas about how they can help with climate action and building resilience to climate change.

They do this by talking with each other and with older generations about the topics of Innovate4Climate.

If you’re interested in applying, check out this article for details on how to submit your application.

The goals of the project

Young people are crucial for speeding up climate action and driving change. They are change-makers, climate advocates, activists, entrepreneurs, and innovative thinkers.

Using technology, science, or teaching, they leverage their talents, energy, and unique experiences to amplify efforts in addressing climate change.

For the 2024 YCI event, I4C plans to engage more than 50 young adults and graduate students from various countries committed to climate action, policies, and global development.

The event is scheduled for September 11th in Berlin, Germany.

The opportunities for young people

During the Young Climate Innovators event, participants will have valuable opportunities to:

  • Connect: Attending the YCI event offers the chance to engage with influential climate leaders globally, as well as experts from the World Bank and business specialists from diverse locations throughout the I4C activities.
  • Present: If participants posses an innovative idea, solution, or a fresh business plan, showcase it at I4C through a presentation.
  • Discuss: Engage also in meaningful conversations and exchange ideas at Innovate4Climate, fostering collaborative dialogue and knowledge-sharing among attendees.
