DiscoverEU, an interrail pass for 20.000 European teens

This summer, an incredible opportunity is waiting for all the young 18 years old Europeans.

The EU’s executive branch has earmarked €12 million ($14.7 million) to provide up 30,000 young Europeans turning 18 this year with a free Interrail pass. What does an interrail pass is?

The interrail pass is a ticket for all the European trains which allows you to travel for free in all the EU community. A great opportunity for all the youngster to discover our beautiful country without paying one single euro but also, more importantly, an occasion to better connect young Europeans and raise the awareness of the European identity and its core values.

The measure is a “preparatory action” related to a proposal put forth by the European Parliament that calls for every European to get a free Interrail pass on his or her 18th birthday.
