Did you know that 2022 will be the European Year of Youth? According to that, the European Commission is setting up several initiatives for youth to take actions toward different goals and priorities. One of them is the general goal of a greener Europe, with the initiative Green Track to be starting in Spring 2022.
If we are to create a future where people can live in harmony with nature, we need to listen to the voices of young people.
The European Commission is launching #TheGreenTrack in Spring 2022, during the European Year of Youth. It is an EU initiative that aims at mobilizing young people to co-create an action-plan with the objective of protecting and restoring our natural world in the next decade.
If you are passionate about nature protection and biodiversity, this initiative surely suits you.
The Green Track is looking for participants like:
The initiative will take place all around Europe throughout events to attend. The European Commission invites young people to create their own events too. Any format – online or on-site, conferences, meetings, workshops, exhibitions, performances are acceptable. The goal is to give visibility to activities related to climate change and environment, where young people can play an important role.
Read the Green Track Report, that summarizes the ideas so far.
A Green Track Event can be organised by individuals between the ages of 18-30 or youth organisations, networks and communities across the EU 27 Member States. Your event will be eligible for consideration as long as it takes place in the EU, targets young citizens and takes place between March and May 2022.
The deadline to submit your own ideas is December 10th 2021.
