The European Union offers young people the possibility to join the Youth Panel, so that they can play a role in building the new general Online European Solidarity Corps training. Becoming a member of the Youth Panel means having an impact on the design and development of the training programme.
The European Solidarity Corps programme aims to enhance the engagement of young people and organisations in solidarity activities of high quality, accessible to all young people as a means to contribute to strengthening cohesion and solidarity in Europe, supporting communities and responding to unmet societal needs.
Through the programme, the participants can be involved in different activities into a wide range of topics (education and training, citizenship and democratic participation, environment and natural protection, migration, culture, and many others). Such activities include:
Thanks to the European Solidarity Corps, young people have already gained invaluable experiences and developed new skills. As the name of the programme points out itself, the focus is on enhancing the European dimension of solidarity.
The Online General Training on the European Solidarity Corps is open to anyone already registered to the Youth Portal. It is a free resources tool, a training dashboard to learn more about ESC and how it works, and to get prepared over a European volunteering experience. It provides participants with training courses and modules for their learning needs.
In order to ensure that the Online General Training on the European Solidarity Corps truly meets the needs of the participants, the European Union is welcoming young people in joining the Youth Panel. A peer-to-peer review that goes through all key stages of designing and developing the training programme and will provide feedback and express its views throughout all implementation phases.
The mandate of the Youth Panel runs until May 2022. This is a voluntary position and mostly requires online participation. However, there should be in-person meetings, with travel and subsistence expenses covered.
