Traineeships at the General Secretariat of the Council
Introduction
The General Secretariat of the Council (GSC) is now accepting applications for its traineeship program. Each year, this program offers several internships. There are 3 types of traineeships in the Council, you can choose a traineeship which is of interest to you:

Outcomes of Your Traineeship
The traineeships at the General Secretariat of the Council offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the EU institution, gain insight into the EU policies and processes, and work in a multicultural and multilingual environment. Trainees will be involved in tasks similar to those of junior administrator officials such as:
- preparing meeting minutes;
- conducting research;
- translating documents;
- compiling reports;
Participants will also have the chance to be involved in a study program that includes visits and conferences at other EU institutions.
Who can apply?
The GSC traineeships are open to:
- EU citizens;
- citizens from candidate countries that have concluded EU accession negotiations.
Moreover, to be eligible for the traineeship, candidates must have very good knowledge of at least two EU official languages, with English or French being required. Most applications come from candidates with qualifications in law, political science, international relations, EU studies, and economics, but the GSC is also looking for candidates with qualifications in translation, human resources, communication, and other fields.
