Be Part of the Youth Action about Sustainability | Under The Starry Sky

Introduction

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), in cooperation with SpareBank 1 SMN, is hosting a nine-month initiative for young people who want to assist promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This long-term project is meant for those young individuals who are:

  • willing to work in a team;
  • Interested in developing a valuable idea to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals;

To achieve this, participants will receive high-quality training on the SDGs and project management.

A Youth Action To Reach The SDGs

The selected participants will have the opportunity to create and implement a project idea throughout the course of the year, with the help and supervision of WFUNA

The programme will conclude with a multi-day ship voyage around Norway’s coast. Participants will get a certificate of completion at the end of the programme.

The project schedule is as follows:

  • The programme will begin on January 19, 2023, with a four-day online instruction. To adapt to different time zones, participants will be able to choose between two sessions from 19 to 22 January (8am-4pm CET) and from 26 to 29 January (4pm-12am CET).
  • Participants must submit a consolidated project proposal by February 19, 2023.
  • Half of the applicants will be chosen based on their proposal pitches to implement their initiative from March 6 to late July 2023, with assistance and mentoring from WFUNA.
  • Participants will sail on a ship excursion around the Norwegian coast from 6 to 15/16 September 2023, as the program’s concluding highlight. For more information about living on board, click here

Flyer Youth Action Under the Starry Sky Application process

Applications are open to Norwegian and international youth aged 18-25, and must be made in groups of four by 31 December 2022.

In the application form, every group must:

  • provide general information on all  the members of the group;
  • submit a one-page maximum outline of the project they wish to implement;
