Become a EU Ambassador for the Environment

Introduction

The European Climate Pact unites individuals in a collective effort to address the climate crisis and contribute to building a more sustainable Europe. At the heart of the Climate Pact are its Ambassador, who play a vital role in informing, inspiring, and supporting climate action within their communities and networks.

This initiative has the aim of making the EU the first climate-neutral continent globally by 2050.

These Ambassadors are essential agents of change, working to spread awareness and foster a sense of responsibility toward environmental sustainability.

Everyone under 30 to apply and become Ambassadors, promoting the collective effort to combat climate change.

The roles of the ambassadors

The Youth Climate Pact Ambassadors can enjoy several benefits, including:

  • Joining a network of fellow Youth Ambassadors to foster collaboration across Europe
  • Receiving exclusive invitations to events that provide insights into EU-level climate policies
  • Taking part in the Youth Climate Pact Dialogue
  • Recognition of your role by the European Commission, including acknowledgment on the Pact website

Furthermore:

  • Showcasing your climate action on platforms like the Pact website and social media for increased visibility
  • Using communication tools provided in a Pact communication kit
  • Engaging with the broader network of Ambassadors to enhance your impact

This role empowers you to inform, inspire, and support climate action within your communities and networks.

The requirements to become an ambassador

If you want to apply for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Reside in an EU Member State
  • Make a climate action commitment as a Pact Ambassador by outlining at least three tangible actions you plan to undertake throughout the year.
  • Complete the e-learning onboarding course within three weeks.
  • Participate in a minimum of two Pact Secretariat and two Country Coordinator-led Pact Community events during your term.
  • Fulfil annual reporting requirements as part of the Ambassadorship renewal process.
