The Gender Equality Forum | Call for Youth Participation
Introduction
The Gender Equality Forum is an engaging event that brings together individuals to address the EU’s most urgent gender equality issues.
People can join online or in Brussels on December 10-11, 2024, to talk about the future of gender equality in the EU up to 2030.
The European Institute for Gender Equality will pay for up to 50 young participants (aged 18 to 30) to attend the Forum in person.
Young advocates for gender equality who are dedicated to making the EU fairer are encouraged to speak up at this event.
The topics
The Forum will focus on two main themes:
- Evaluating gender equality in Europe now and in the future.
- Addressing gender-based violence in the EU: ongoing and new challenges.
The event will feature debates, workshops, masterclasses, inspirational talks, and more. Participants will include representatives from EU institutions, civil society organizations, human rights defenders, artists, and others.
The event will be held in English, both in person and online. Some sessions will have International Sign Language interpretation available both on-site and online.
The reasons to participate
Those who are passionate about working together for a greater cause, especially in promoting gender equality and human rights, should attend this event.
Participants will have the chance to share their unique ideas with top representatives, gender equality experts, and peers.
Making a difference begins with discussing ideas and sharing experiences and perspectives. The Forum provides an opportunity to do just that.
Who can apply?
The Forum aims to reflect Europe’s diversity. Therefore, candidates will be chosen regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, social background, color, disability, religion, or belief.
This call in particular is for people who are:
- Aged 18-30 years at the time of application
- Committed to gender equality as a key principle of the European Union
- Motivated to actively participate in the Forum’s sessions
- Comfortable expressing themselves in English
- Available for the entire Forum on December 10 and 11
- Based in one of the 27 EU Member States
